My Creative and Educational Work

My Many Professional Hats

I am a full time mom and wife, but I love mixing a little bit of special kinds of work when possible to teach or promote things I love and believe.  Please contact me through the blog (or my personal contact info) if you would like to discuss my availability for tutoring, teaching, coaching, etc.

JUDAICS AND HEBREW
My college degrees are in Judaic Studies and Hebrew Language from Brandeis University.  I have studied at religious seminaries in Israel and in similar settings in the USA.  I have a passion for these topics which has lead me to continually renew and expand my knowledge as an adult.
  • I taught Hebrew and Judaics in "supplementary" classroom settings (synagogue after-school programs) for ten years (up until and including the present.)
  • I enjoy working with individual students of all levels, ages, and subjects.  I am as flexible as possible
  • I have tutored Bat Mitzvah students, special needs, adults learning Hebrew, children beginning
  • I am a certified substitute teacher with experience in everything from preschool through middle school, Judaics, Hebrew and general studies.
ATHLETICS AND COACHING
I have extensive experience in athletics (team and individual coaching, competitive running in high school and college, basketball, sports program management, coaching, and physical education)
  • I taught (and currently teach) physical education, coached high school cross country, coached high school half marathon team, and managed a high school sports program ALL for two years each (coincidentally, with some overlap!)
  • I have knowledge of healthy dietary tips and keep up to date on health and wellness recommendations, so I always integrate healthy lifestyle tips into my coaching and athletic work.

SEWING TEACHER AND SCRAPBOOKER
I am skilled at sewing and photo-album making.
  • I teach sewing camps, workshops, classes to children and adults.
  • I love being "commissioned" to do your customized project.  (Please visit my blog page "My Creative Work" or view labeled blog posts on the home page to see examples.)
  • I believe in preserving family memories and can help you do that.  My mother did it professionally and I learned the trade, skills, and techniques from her.  I have top-of-the-line supplies to do that work in an efficient, attractive, and long-lasting manner.

Jewish Women Thrive Magazine: Health and Fitness with a Jewish Twist!  I almost forgot to share this because it went dormant when my daughter was born and we moved away from St. Louis and some of my Jewish school-athletics jobs.  I am proud of the four issues of this magazine that I created with contributions from thoughtful women and girls.  Please have a look!  I am pleased the website still exists!  Someday we'll bring it back to full life.

ONE LAST THING WE DO...
Hubby and I also sell things on Ebay.com/Craigslist.com and occasionally a lot of money can be made doing this for valuable items.  If you need this done for you, be in touch.  We're flexible, opportunistic, and always interested in a good business proposition!

I love to sew, scrapbook, garden, and create educational toys.  I love to practice these skills, make things, and teach others how to do them too!  I have taught many private and group lessons and camps for all ages.  Please email me if you have any questions about how we can collaborate.
